About Me

ERIC SHACKLE
I'm a 91-year-old retired Sydney journalist whose hobby is searching the Internet and writing about it. I''ve been a compulsive writer since 1929, when I won a blue certificate for a brief sci-fi story in the Sydney Sunday Sun, which has since set. I was born in Chingford (Essex (UK), educated in Chingford, Mosman (Sydney, Australia) and Christchurch (New Zealand). I served in the Australian Imperial Foore (AIF)in the New Guinea jungle in WWII. I've worked as a journalist on newspapers in New Guinea, Chritchurch, Brisbane and Sydney and as Public Relations Officer in Sydney for an international oil company. I'm a copy editor of Anu Garg's Seattle-based A Word A Day newsletter, which is emailed five days a week to more than 900,000 wordlovers in 200 countries. Please see my blog: http://blogspot.com
